Why We're Unique
Silaw Lighting Design, LLC brings a unique work experience to the design process. We believe that lighting contributes to the built environment - defining spaces, accentuating architectural elements and aesthetics, and embracing the community who shares it. Our goal is to be on an 'enlightened' journey with the client - understanding their vision and goals to illuminate spaces to be well-lit, engaging and welcoming. Bringing us on as part of the design team elevates the collaborative process between disciplines.
How We Do It
Consultation
Tell us about your vision!
Let's meet to discuss your design goals, requirements, budget, etc.
Construction Documentation
Lighting layouts and fixture selections will be finalized. Lighting control intent will suggest control locations and which fixtures to be controlled together.
Concept Design
We'll start to engage in a collaborative process. We'll explore and present design concepts to get an idea of the 'look and feel' of your design intent.
Construction Administration
Contractor submittals and shop drawings will be reviewed to ensure the specified lighting is purchased.
Design Development
This is where we'll begin documenting preliminary lighting layouts and fixture selections. Lighting photometric calculations will be studied to verify light levels.
Site Visits & Mockups
Occasional site visits will be scheduled to ensure progress of the lighting installation and functionality.
Mockups are a fun, hands-on experience to see what the light will actually look like in the space. Fixture samples may be requested from lighting agents or manufacturers to test out lighting details.
